Jesus answered them and GAVE THEM THE SIGN: “When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)...” Mark reported: “But when ye shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand)” Luke's Report TELLS US PLAINLY what we're supposed to "UNDERSTAND": “And WHEN YE SHALL SEE JERUSALEM COMPASSED WITH ARMIES, THEN KNOW that the DESOLATION THEREOF is nigh.” The END-TIME ANNIHILATION of JERUSALEM IS THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION!! (Mat 24:15, Luk 21:20, Mar 13:14) ..... Let's TURN ON THE NEWS and see if armies are CURRENTLY surrounding Jerusalem?? --clark

The Lord Turns Away for 3½ Days
“…We are told in 1 Kings 6:1 that "It was in mid-spring, during the fourth year of Solomon's reign, that he began the construction of the Temple of the LORD. This was 480 years after the people of Israel were delivered from their slavery in the land of Egypt" (NIV). This would place the exodus at 1480 B.C.…”

The Exodus

“…This would likewise suggest, especially if the Ḥabiri are identical with the Shasu (W. M. Müller, "Asien und Europa nach Altägyptischen Denkmälern," p. 131), for the Exodus the decade 1480-1470 B.C. (see Steindorff in Herzog-Hauck, l.c. i. 211; Beer in Guthe, "Kurzes Bibelwörterb." 1903, p. 58).”

“…our Bible-based calculations will show, the exodus from Egypt happened between 1480 and 1567-BC…)”

“The date of the Exodus should therefore be about B.C. 1480”

So if we estimate the Exodus of Israel at 1480 BC and we add it to our current date of 2012 AD and we add the 7 year Tribulation we arrive at:
 1480 + 2012 + 7 = 3,499 years
The Bible shows us that 3500 years can be counted as 3½ days unto the Lord:
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (2Pe 3:8)”

It’s interesting that the Lord turned His face away from Jesus for 3½ days and (in the Lord’s timing) He also has turned His face away from Israel for 3½ days:

“And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken Me? (Mark 15:34)”
“For the LORD hath called thee [Israel] as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. In a little wrath I hid My face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer. (Isa 54:6-8)”
“I [God] lifted up Mine hand unto them [Israel] also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries… (Eze 20:23, read 1-24 and also see Exodus Chapters 3-13).
“For a small moment” the Lord has forsaken, hid His face from and scattered Israel (His elect).  Above we have shown that this “moment” appears to be a 3½ day period in the Lord’s way of reckoning.
