The Scepter, The Lawgiver, and the Gathering of God’s Elect
"The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. (Gen 49:10)"
To this day (July 13, 2012) the scepter is still in Judah's (the Jews) hand. To this day Judah is still the lawgiver who has influenced the great nations with God's laws (i.e. the Ten Commandments).
Unto Judah "shall the gathering of the people be." What does this mean?
The prophecies show us that there will be a great gathering OF ISRAEL (God's Elect: Isa 45:4) in the last days. This gathering will begin with 12,000 members of each tribe... with Judah being first in line (Rev 7:5). This gathering will be completed just prior to the great *hour of God's wrath which wrath will be poured out upon the earth. This great gathering will include those of God's elect (a remnant of Israel and of the Gentiles), both dead and alive: WHO HAVE BEEN WASHED CLEAN BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB OF GOD. This culmination of the great gathering occurs at the sounding of "the last trump" and is commonly referred to as:
The first resurrection of the dead and the rapture of the living.
The Apostle Paul speaks of this culmination:
“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1Cr 15:51-52)”
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent [precede] them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1Th 4:15-18)”
As Jacob prophesied (see Gen 49: above):
· "...unto him [Judah] shall the gathering of the people be." Revelation 7:5 shows us that this last-day gathering starts with Judah (this gathering continues and concludes at the sounding of the 7th trump).
· Jesus will confiscate and assume Judah's scepter of authority and status (as the world's lawgiver) during the sounding of this same trump:
“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever. (Rev 11:15)”
After the culmination of this last-day-gathering (the rapture/resurrection mentioned above), the "*hour" of God's judgment and wrath will have arrived (Rev 14:7 & 15:1):
* “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay [trust] upon him that smote them; but shall stay [trust] upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God. For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption [annihilation, see Dan 9:27] decreed shall overflow with righteousness. For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption [annihilation, see Dan 9:27], even determined, in the midst of all the land… Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled. And He shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron… And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of Wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD… with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall he slay the wicked. (Isa 10:20 thru 11:4)”
Upon the completion of His hour of wrath our Lord Jesus Christ will restore His (Shiloh's) Peace upon all the earth for 1000 years (Rev 20:6):
“And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. (Isa 11:5-9)
