Jesus answered them and GAVE THEM THE SIGN: “When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)...” Mark reported: “But when ye shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand)” Luke's Report TELLS US PLAINLY what we're supposed to "UNDERSTAND": “And WHEN YE SHALL SEE JERUSALEM COMPASSED WITH ARMIES, THEN KNOW that the DESOLATION THEREOF is nigh.” The END-TIME ANNIHILATION of JERUSALEM IS THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION!! (Mat 24:15, Luk 21:20, Mar 13:14) ..... Let's TURN ON THE NEWS and see if armies are CURRENTLY surrounding Jerusalem?? --clark

Last Day Safety

God’s “holy people Dan 12:7” are now FACE-to-FACE with “a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people [Christians/Israelites] shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book (Dan 12:1).”

As believers, what promise has God made to us regarding our physical safety for us and our families during this “Great Tribulation Mat 24:21”?  From now until the second coming of Christ (which occurs with The Rapture ), how exactly will God “deliver” us?

Obviously, we all fall into one of these two categories:

1.      We will live through it, or
2.      We will die.

Jesus tells us what will happen to some of us who “die in Christ 1Th 4:16” during this time:

“And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?... [Jesus answered:] Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:  And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.  But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.  But there shall not an hair of your head perish.  In your patience possess ye your souls (Luke 21:7-19).”

So some of us will die but God will bring us through it so, in reality (from God's and our points of view): not a hair of our heads will perish!   If we must die that sounds like an easy way to go!  Jesus continues explaining what will happen to many of us who remain alive during this time:

“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof [Jerusalem] is nigh [Jesus also calls this “the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet” Mat 24:15 Mar 13:14 ].  Then let them which are in *Judaea  flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled (Luk 21:20-22).”

*I believe the prophetic definition of “Judaea” means governments/monetary systems controlled by the Jews, aka “Kingdom of Judah.”  This is explained in:

This last-day physical flight to safety is spoken of many times in the Bible:

“And the woman [Israel, all 12 Tribes Rev 12:1] fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. ( Rev 12:6)”

“And to the woman [Israel, all 12 Tribes Rev 12:1] were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time [3.5 years], from the face of the serpent. (Rev 12:14)”

Ultimately all 12 Tribes of Israel and The Church of Jesus Christ will be one body** Rev 21:9, but last-day-safety is explained differently for the Church than for Israel.  The Church is divided into 7 categories [see The Seven Churches of The Book of Revelation].  These 7 categories are described in Revelation 2 and 3.  Although these churches have specific historic significance it is very important that last-day Christians understand the spiritual/prophetic meaning.  We each need to ask ourselves:

“Which one of the Seven-Church-categories describes my Christian walk?”

God advises/warns each Church in different ways but only one of the Seven-Church-categories, The Church of Philadelphia,” receives this promise:

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. (Rev 3:10)”

So, during the Great Tribulation, some Christians and some Israelites will have special protection.  Israel will be living-off-the-land.  Philadelphia will be kept safely…wherever she may be.   Some of us will die and some of us will not!  Paul talks to us specifically about the matter:

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep [die], but we shall all be changed,  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump[Rev 10:7 & Rev 11:15]: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1Cr 15:51-52).”

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep [dead], that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent [precede] them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words (1Th 4:13-18).”

  2. Hello Larry,
As a general rule I use KJV (King James Version). In this particular blog, you can click on the scripture references and the Bible scripture will download.
