Jesus answered them and GAVE THEM THE SIGN: “When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)...” Mark reported: “But when ye shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand)” Luke's Report TELLS US PLAINLY what we're supposed to "UNDERSTAND": “And WHEN YE SHALL SEE JERUSALEM COMPASSED WITH ARMIES, THEN KNOW that the DESOLATION THEREOF is nigh.” The END-TIME ANNIHILATION of JERUSALEM IS THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION!! (Mat 24:15, Luk 21:20, Mar 13:14) ..... Let's TURN ON THE NEWS and see if armies are CURRENTLY surrounding Jerusalem?? --clark

Time-periods Revealed in the Book of Daniel

The following is a continuation of our December 28 blog article titled:

You will recall, we considered God’s people as defined within 2 categories:

1. “The saints” (aka “the church”)
2.  “Israel” (aka “the holy people”)

The following comments apply specifically to Israel… all 12 Tribes:

Dan 12:1:

"...there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people [Daniel's people: 'Israel' (v.9:20)] shall be delivered..."

In Dan 12:6 the angel asked:

"How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?"

Dan  12:7 gives the answer:

"it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when He shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished."

Dan 12:8-9 says Daniel did not understand.  These words were meant for the last-day Israelites, not him:

"I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?  And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end."

Dan 12:11 tells us plainly:

"from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate SET UP, there shall be 1290 days."

Elsewhere in the Bible we are told Israel (Daniel's people) are given 1260 days:

"And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. (Rev 12:14)"

"And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there 1260 days. (Rev 12:6)"

In Matt 24:15-16 Jesus explained it also:

"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:"

Luke told us exactly what this Abomination of Desolation is:

"And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.  Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.  (Luke 21:20-22)"

The standing (or setting up) of The Abomination of Desolation will occur when we "shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies."  I think this means Israel (all 12 Tribes) will have a 30 day warning to flee "into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there 1260 days."  This explains the 1290 days of Daniel 12:11.  Israelites that hold out for an additional 45 days will be especially blessed:

"Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty [1335] days. (Dan 12:12)"

Let's do the math:

30 + 1260 + 45 = 1335 Days.  What is this "blessed" event that takes place after this 1335 days and how long does this event last?  Let's first put things into perspective by considering the final events leading up to the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ:

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  (1Cor 15:51-52)"

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.  (1Th 4:16-18)"

"But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.  (Rev 10:7)"

This great "mystery of God", the rapturing and resurrecting of God's saints, will occur at the last trump.  But before this Seventh Trumpet sounds, some of Daniel's people (The 12 Tribes of Israel) will receive their “changed bodies early:

"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.  And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:  And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.  These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. (Rev 14:1-4)"

So the 144,000 Israelites are "the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb!"  Now, let's get back to the math:

Starting with "the standing (or setting up) of 'the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet'" we have:
30 days
+ 1260 days
+ 45 = 1335 Days

I think this 1335th day is the beginning of a certain time of which God "shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people."  So God stops scattering His holy people on this 1335th day [see Lev 26:33; Deu 4:27; 1Ki 14:15; Neh 1:8; Deu 30:1-20].  Once the scattering has been "accomplished" (day 1335) the gathering shall begin.  It starts with the 144,000 Israelites:

"And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.  And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,  Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.  And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed 144,000 of all the tribes of the children of Israel.  Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.  Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.  Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.  Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.  (Rev 7:1-8)"

These "four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea," were held back until the 144,000 were sealed.  You will see next, what appears to be these "four angels," are held back until the sounding of the 6th Trump of The Book of Revelation:

"And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,  Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.  And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.  (Rev 9:13-15)"

Again, let's get back to the math.  Now we have:

an hour
+ a day
+ a month (30 days)
+ a year (360 days)
+ 30 days
+ 1260 days
+ 45 = 1726 Days + "an hour"

By my calculations, starting with "the standing (or setting up) of 'the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet'" up until The 6th Trump (Rev 9:14) is 1726 days (+ an hour).  Not counting the 30 day set-up, Israel's "time of trouble" is 1,696 days (+ an hour).  This 1,696 days appears to be the portion of Great Tribulation known as "Jacob's Trouble (Jer 30:7 & Dan 12:1)"

We see that: at the sounding of the 6th Trump, the 144,000 will have been sealed into God's protection... I believe their bodies “shall be changed (as in 1 Cor 15:52)”   We also see that the remainder of God's people will be raptured/resurrected at the sounding of the 7th Trump (1Cor 15:51-52 & 1Thes 4:16-18).  Does the Bible tell us how much time there is between the 6th and 7th Trump?  I believe it does! Follow my thinking:

"Yea, he [antichrist] magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down... Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?  And he said unto me, Unto 2300 days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.  (Dan 8:11-14)"

This 2300 day period begins at the time of 'the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet' and it ends when Jesus Christ returns.  I believe this explains how the sanctuary is "cleansed"(at Mt. Zion, Rev 14:1, Rev 11:15).

Again, let's get back to the math.  Now we have:

an hour
+ a day
+ a month (30 days)
+ a year (360 days)
+ 30 days
+ 1260 days
+ 45 = 1726 Days + "an hour"
[Not counting the 30 day set-up, Israel's "time of trouble" is 1,696 days (+ an hour)]
2300 days - 1696 days = 604 days (minus the hour).

By this, the 144,000 will be completely sealed before the sounding of the 6th Trump.  Between 603-604 days later the 7th Trump of The Book of Revelation sounds. That’s 20 Jewish months (20 x 30 = 600) with 3+days left over for the resurrection of the "two witnesses (Rev 11:3-12)" and God's "hour" of wrath (Rev 18:10).

The Great Tribulation: Deliverance of God’s People

In Bible prophecy we see that God’s people are distinguished into two categories:

1. “The saints” (aka “the church”)
2.  “Israel” (aka “the holy people”)
Ultimately both groups will be joined as one (see The Bride, the Lamb's Wife) but, until such time, the prophecies draw a distinction between the two.   Excepting for those who die during the Tribulation (Luke 21:16-18), deliverance will arrive differently for “Israel” than for “the saints.”
In this brief article let’s focus on the 3½ year time periods that are specifically designated to each group.  It has been taught that these periods (“time, and times, and half a time”) are a way of dividing the 7-Year Tribulation into 2 halves.  Let’s look closer and we’ll see how Israel and the church are each given their own unique time sequences (that do not appear to be correlated to each other):

The following 3.5 years pertain to "the saints."  "Little horn" is allowed to "wear out the saints of the most High" "until the Ancient of days" comes (“judgment sits”):

"…I beheld, and the same horn [aka: “little horn,” “antichrist”] made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;  Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom… he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.   But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.    And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.    Hitherto is the end of the matter. (Dan 7:20-28)"

So the antichrist will prevail against the church for the 3½ years. This ends when the “Ancient of Days” returns.” This occurs at the end of the Great Tribulation at the sounding of the 7th Trump:

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1Cr 15:51-52).”

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words (1Th 4:16-18).”

The saints will go through a very troubling time LEADING UP TO THE RAPTURE.  But what about God’s “holy people?”  The following 3.5 years is different than above and pertains to "Israel (Rev 12:1-5)."  At the time of the Abomination of Desolation (Matt 24:16, Mark 13:14, Luke 21:21), Israel escapes to the wilderness:

"And the woman [Israel] fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.  (Rev 12:6)"

"And to the woman [Israel] were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. (Rev 12:14)"

Daniel teaches us that Israel (Daniel's people) are going to "be delivered" during the Great Tribulation (Dan 12:1).  We are given the time period in Daniel 12: 7-13:

"...it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when He shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. (v.7)"

Here we are given the same 3.5 years stated above with an additional time added:

"and [in addition to, PLUS] when He shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people"

So how long does it take for God to finish the scattering His Holy people?  We are told in v.11-12:

"And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.   Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. (Dan 12:11-12)"

We have just been given the timetable for the deliverance of Israel (Daniel's holy people) as pertaining to the Great Tribulation:

1.  30 Days = This is a 30-day warning period which starts when we see the "set up" of the Abomination of Desolation (v. 11, also Matt 24:14 & Mark 13:14).  I think this "set up" will be when "Jerusalem is compassed [surrounded] with armies."   The desolation of Jerusalem ("there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down") IS THE ACTUAL EVENT!

2.  1260 Days = 1290 days - (minus) the above 30 Days (Dan 12:11, Rev 12:6, & Rev 12:14).

3.  45 Days = 1335 days - (minus) the above 1290 Days (Dan 12:12).

So what is this “blessed” event, for Israel, that begins on this 1335th day (Dan 12:12)?

Daniel's people (God's holy people: Israel, all 12 Tribes) are being delivered!  God is now stopping His scattering process.  In these last days, 144,000 of the 12 Tribes of Israel are the first group to be raptured/resurrected/sealed (beingthe firstfruitsdescribed in Rev 14:4).  I think this sealing begins on the 1335th day shown above  and is completed over a 391 day (+ "one hour") period:

“And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.  And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants [12,000 from each Tribe] of our God in their foreheads And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,  Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.   And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year [391 days +“one hour”], for to slay the third part of men. (Rev 7:1-3 & Rev 9:13-15)”

With this thinking, the 3.5 years of Tribulation, for the saints (Church) ends at the 7th Trump.  The 3.5 years for Israel, in the wilderness, begins at the Abomination of Desolation (following a 30 day warning period), and then (another 45 days later) their (Israel's) deliverance begins (Dan 12:1), lasting 391 days (+ "one hour").

I will soon be publishing a revised Tribulation Chart in PDF format.  As always, your remarks are welcome.  These comments are based on my current understanding and are subject to new and better revelation--clark

Last Day Safety

God’s “holy people Dan 12:7” are now FACE-to-FACE with “a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people [Christians/Israelites] shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book (Dan 12:1).”

As believers, what promise has God made to us regarding our physical safety for us and our families during this “Great Tribulation Mat 24:21”?  From now until the second coming of Christ (which occurs with The Rapture ), how exactly will God “deliver” us?

Obviously, we all fall into one of these two categories:

1.      We will live through it, or
2.      We will die.

Jesus tells us what will happen to some of us who “die in Christ 1Th 4:16” during this time:

“And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?... [Jesus answered:] Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:  And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.  But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.  But there shall not an hair of your head perish.  In your patience possess ye your souls (Luke 21:7-19).”

So some of us will die but God will bring us through it so, in reality (from God's and our points of view): not a hair of our heads will perish!   If we must die that sounds like an easy way to go!  Jesus continues explaining what will happen to many of us who remain alive during this time:

“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof [Jerusalem] is nigh [Jesus also calls this “the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet” Mat 24:15 Mar 13:14 ].  Then let them which are in *Judaea  flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled (Luk 21:20-22).”

*I believe the prophetic definition of “Judaea” means governments/monetary systems controlled by the Jews, aka “Kingdom of Judah.”  This is explained in:

This last-day physical flight to safety is spoken of many times in the Bible:

“And the woman [Israel, all 12 Tribes Rev 12:1] fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. ( Rev 12:6)”

“And to the woman [Israel, all 12 Tribes Rev 12:1] were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time [3.5 years], from the face of the serpent. (Rev 12:14)”

Ultimately all 12 Tribes of Israel and The Church of Jesus Christ will be one body** Rev 21:9, but last-day-safety is explained differently for the Church than for Israel.  The Church is divided into 7 categories [see The Seven Churches of The Book of Revelation].  These 7 categories are described in Revelation 2 and 3.  Although these churches have specific historic significance it is very important that last-day Christians understand the spiritual/prophetic meaning.  We each need to ask ourselves:

“Which one of the Seven-Church-categories describes my Christian walk?”

God advises/warns each Church in different ways but only one of the Seven-Church-categories, The Church of Philadelphia,” receives this promise:

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. (Rev 3:10)”

So, during the Great Tribulation, some Christians and some Israelites will have special protection.  Israel will be living-off-the-land.  Philadelphia will be kept safely…wherever she may be.   Some of us will die and some of us will not!  Paul talks to us specifically about the matter:

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep [die], but we shall all be changed,  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump[Rev 10:7 & Rev 11:15]: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1Cr 15:51-52).”

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep [dead], that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent [precede] them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words (1Th 4:13-18).”

Will Believers Remain On Earth During the Great Tribulation?

After our last post: Last Day Wrath of Satan vs. Last Day Wrath of God we received a few comments and questions.  I thought it appropriate to publish this answer in the form of a new post.  Comments are welcome (see "Comment" fields at the bottom of this article)--clark
################

Good morning Otto,

The Rapture/Resurrection of The Elect (alive and dead,  who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior) will occur immediately upon the first sound of the 7th Trump.   1 Cor 15:52 says it will happen "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump."  The elect, who have not accepted Christ, up to this moment will not be raptured.

This is where we need to understand the meaning of "Elect."  Yesterday, I re-wrote the explanation on the blog.  Please go there and use "elect" as your search word using "Find on this Page...":

Last Day Wrath of Satan vs. Last Day Wrath of God

If you come to the understanding, as I have, that Israel and Born-again-Christians are or are becoming One Body (God's Elect of whom some have not yet accepted Christ as Messiah), then my answer to this question will make sense to you.

The Bride of The Lamb is described in
Rev 21:9-14
"¶ And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,  Having the glory of God: and her [the holy Jerusalem] light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;  And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:   On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.  And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb."
John continues describing, in verses 15-27: The bride (the Lamb's wife,  that great city, the holy Jerusalem).  This is One Bride, not 2!  Ultimately, The Church and Israel are One.  The following prayer of Jesus is for all of Israel and the Gentiles:
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their wordThat they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (John 17:20-21)"
Back to your question Otto:
I conclude that believers will remain on earth during the full 7 years of the 70th week of Daniel because the Rapture/First-Resurrection-of-the-Dead does not take place until the 7th Trump (according to my understanding of prophecy calculations).  That being said we have to realize that...

Some of God's Elect will die... some even by murder:
"And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.  But there shall not an hair of your head perish.  In your patience possess ye your souls. (Luke 21:16-19)"

Some of God's Elect will flee to "the wilderness" to avoid taking the mark of the beast:

"Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.  But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. Luke 21:21-23)"

"And the woman [Israel] fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. [3½ years] (Rev 12:6)"

"And to the woman [Israel] were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time [3½ years], from the face of the serpent… And the earth helped the woman…  And the dragon [“that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world”] was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.  (Rev 12:14-17)"

Some of God's Elect will have God's Hedge of protection (no matter where they are):
"¶ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;  I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.   Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.   Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Rev 3:7-10)"

I hope that answers your question--clark

Jonah’s Judgment of Nineveh vs. God’s Judgment of Nineveh

Jonah had a tendency to argue, disagree, and disobey the LORD.  This rebellion brought him to a “hell experience:”

“I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.  (Jonah 2:2.  Read both chapters 1 & 2 for the full account)”

After 3 days and 3 nights the fish “vomited out Jonah upon the dry ground.”  He was given a 2nd chance to obey the LORD by going to Nineveh and preaching God’s word to them:

“And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,  Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.  So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD.   Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.  And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.  For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.  And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:  But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.  Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.  (Jonah 3:1-10)”

Jonah prophesied to Nineveh that God would destroy them in forty days.  God instead had mercy and stayed His hand.  Jonah did not like being wrong and he did not agree with the LORD’s change of plans.  Jonah was very happy when God’s mercy caused the fish to spit him back into life, but he did not share in God’s mercy toward the people of Nineveh.  Apparently he still was hoping for the city’s punishment even after God had changed His Mind:

“So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city.  And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd.  But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered.  And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.  And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.

Then said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:  And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle? (Jonah 4:5-11)

Nineveh was a city of over 120,000 people.  How many similar places exist in today’s world… where the people “cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand?”

The Bride, the Lamb's Wife vs. Jezebel the Whore, the Witch

The Bride, the Lamb's Wife

“And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,  Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;  And [she: the holy Jerusalem] had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:  On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.  And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.  (Rev 21:9-14)”

So the bride of Christ is “that great city, the holy Jerusalem.”  The 12-part foundation represents the names of the twelve apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ. The 12 gates of the city, each with its own angel, represent the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.

"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman [Israel] clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:  And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered....  And she [Israel] brought forth a man child [Jesus Christ], who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.  And the woman [Israel] fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days [1,260 days also called "a time and times and the dividing of time"].  (Rev 12:1-6)"
Verse 14 continues:
"And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.”

As shown above The House of Israel and  The Church will be one:the Lamb's wife.” When the Apostle Paul was teaching: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it” he also said:

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (Eph 5:31-32)”

When one of the seven angels (which had the seven vials) showed John “the bride, the Lamb's wife,”  John was “carried away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and [the angel showed him] that great city, the holy Jerusalem.” John reported:

And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. (Rev 21:9-22)”

Jesus prayed for all believers when he prayed these words to our Father in Heaven:

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are oneI in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. (John 17: 20-23)”

The Marriage of Jesus Christ, to His bride results in the Holy union of Israel, the Church, the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb.

We now see plainly what “woman” God loves and counts as his fiancé.  She is washed from her sins in His own blood, and He “hath made us [members of His Church] kings and priests unto God and his Father.”

There is another “woman” whose goal is to deceive and captivate the very elect of God.  Unless Church-members repent, becoming one with her results in “great tribulation” and death

Church members of Thyatira were warned:

"... I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.  And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.  Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.  And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.  But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.  But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.  (Rev 2: 20-25)"

So who or what is Jezebel?:

Jezebel the Whore, the Witch
“And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many? (2Ki 9:22)”

“And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.  And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.  And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.  And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread

But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?  And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.  And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I [Jezebel] will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.  And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:  And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.

And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in is city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.  They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.  And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.  Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.

And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.  And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,  Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.  And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.  And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.  Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,  And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.  And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.  Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.

But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred upAnd he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. (1Ki 21:1-26)”

I think of the spirit of Jezebel as an evil spirit. God commands us to “love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”

The first sign of a Jezebel spirit appears in the 3rd Chapter of Genesis:

"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (Gen 3: 1-6)"

Adam was faced with the choice of obeying God or following his rebellious wife.  According to Revelation 2: 20 Jezebel is a false profit who teaches and seduces God’s servants… the first teaching lesson (in Eden) having been:

“Ye shall not surely die”

… but God, speaking of Jezebel, says:

“I will kill her *children with death”

* children”: Greek word τκνον, teknon:
“Of anything who depends upon it, is possessed by a desire or affection for it, is addicted to it.”  (Rev. 2:23)

It seems to me that a Jezebel spirit appeared when Eve rebelled… temporarily joining herself with the devil. “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft (1 Sam. 15:23)
